OUR STORY

We Started Because Homeowners Kept Hearing Nothing Could Be Done

The same pattern shows up in call after call. A salesperson at the kitchen table. A tablet held out for a signature. A promise that the power bill would disappear or the payment would never rise.

Then the first escalated payment arrives. The salesperson has moved on, and sometimes the dealer has closed. The finance company points to a contract the homeowner never had time to read properly.

Being told nothing can be done is not always the full story. Sometimes the paperwork doesn’t match what was promised. Sometimes required disclosures were never given, or the cancellation window was misrepresented.

Other times, the agreement is sound, and the honest answer is that there is no case. We tell you that too. Free My Solar exists to give homeowners a clear answer before they spend money looking for one.

What We Do and What We Don't

What We Do

  • Read your lease, loan, or PPA line by line and explain what it says
  • Work out what the escalator may cost you over the remaining term
  • Compare what you were promised with what you signed
  • Flag missing disclosures, UCC-1 filings, and transfer clauses you should know about
  • Introduce you to an independent specialist when there may be something worth pursuing

What We Don't Do

  • We are not a law firm, and we do not give legal advice
  • We do not charge homeowners a fee or take a cut of any settlement
  • We do not sell solar, financing, insurance, or warranties
  • We do not cancel contracts or promise an outcome, a dollar figure, or a timeframe
  • We do not tell you that you have a case when we don't believe you do

How a Solar Contract Review Actually Works

Four steps, no cost, and no obligation to act on what we find.

01

Tell us the basics

Share your agreement type, installer, lender, state, and monthly payment. It takes about two minutes.

02

Send the paperwork

Send the signed contract, the finance agreement, and the savings estimate you were shown. Texts or emails from the salesperson help too.

03

We Read It Carefully

We check the term, escalator, buyout, transfer on sale, liens, and disclosures. Then we compare them with what you were told.

04

You Get a Straight Answer

We explain our findings in plain language. If something may be worth pursuing, we can introduce a specialist. If not, we say so.

What We Hold Ourselves To

Straight answers

If your agreement looks sound, we tell you. A referral fee is never a reason to send you somewhere you don't need to go.

Documents before opinions

We work from the paperwork you actually signed, not from what is typical in the industry. We can show you every point we raise on the page.

Open about how we are paid

We may earn a referral fee from specialists we introduce, never from you. Our Advertiser Disclosure explains exactly how that works.
